137 FREE ebooks on User Experience, Usability, User Interface Design and more

137 FREE ebooks on User Experience, Usability, User Interface Design and more

Human behavior is amazing. That’s probably why it’s so easy to fall in love with user-centered design. It’s a broad subject that is based on human-computer interaction, psychological triggers, behavioral patterns, and then spits out user interface design, user experience design, web design and more.
It’s a science that pokes into users minds with relentless curiosity. And relentless curiosity is what all creatives have in common.
That curiosity got us to start Userbrain, a user testing service where we help other creatives pick some user brains. Week after week, not just once in awhile. We want to make it a habit.
That curiosity also got us wondering: “What free books on the subjects are spread around the Web that we haven’t found and read yet?”. That is why we went on a wild hunt to gather all the free ebooks that we could find. It took us some time, but the count is in.
135 [now 137] free ebooks are in this library. The topics we found range from Web design, User experience, User interface, Typography, Interaction design, Usability testing, Accessibility and some Marketing & Conversion books.
We invite you to join our hunt and bring your catch to this library. It is an open library so everyone is welcome to take, and everyone is welcome to add.
P.S. We want to salute every one of the authors for taking the effort to write these books and make their knowledge available to everyone.
This list got a lot of “organic” shares. That means the authors efforts are valued, and their knowledge is reaching new curious & creative minds.
So thank you for spreading knowledge, and thank you for sharing this list and adding your finds to it, in the comments, on twitter and everywhere you can.

The book includes extensive discussion of the design issues, and how to overcome them in the framework. Each chapter of the book focuses on a particular requirement of the framework. The book will not present the total code for a framework, which requires many thousands of lines. But it does show the parts that raise critical design or implementation issues. For these, detailed explanation is given, leaving the less problematic parts to the code download itself. If you are a professional PHP developer who wants to know more about web oriented frameworks and content management systems, this book is for you. Whether you already use an in-house developed framework or are developing one, or if you are simply interested in the issues involved in this demanding area, you will find discussion ranging from design issues to detailed coding solutions in this book. You are expected to have experience working with PHP 5 object-oriented programming. Examples in the book will run on any recent version of PHP 5, including 5.3..
